Tirea Sansbury

Ms. Tirea M Sansbury is currently a High School teacher at Cumberland County Christian School. Ms. Sanbury studied Pre-Law at North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC, and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. She obtained her Special Education Teacher Certification from UNC-Pembroke, Pembroke, North Carolina. She is working towards the completion of her Ed.D in Special Education Administration at Walden University.
Ms. Sansbury has been in education for 20 years and holds NC Teacher Certifications in Special Education General Curriculum K-12, Special Education Mild to Moderate Disabilities K-12, Special Education English K-12, Special Education Math K-12, History K-12, as well as ACSI Teacher Certification in Elementary and Special Education.
As a lifelong learner, Ms. Sansbury believes that all children can learn. However, they may learn differently; in a different manner, in a different way, at different levels, and at a different pace. Different, however, does not mean less. She believes in the utilization of a plethora of means to measure student achievement within the learning environment and believes it is essential to celebrate all children, no matter how great they are and regardless of how small.
What do I like most about teaching?
When students not only grasp content but learn life skills that will enrich their lives forever. With valuable lessons such as learning to believe in themselves, to build confidence, and to advocate in their learning. If they achieve these, they will be successful in all their future endeavors.
